While she never waited tables and had yet to write her first screenplay (which she eventually completed many years later and to date, still remains unsold), she did go to work for the groundbreaking entertainment PR firm, Hanson & Schwam. There, she cut her teeth as a young publicist by working on campaigns for industry legends including Julie Andrews, Johnny Mathis and author Sidney Sheldon, among many others. After a brief stint as the show publicist for Montel Williams, the lure of working for a television studio was too great and she soon landed at Fox Broadcasting Company. Her years at FOX and sister company Twentieth Century Fox Television, were among some of the most exciting and rewarding of her career. While there she oversaw the launch and day-to-day campaigns of some of the most successful FOX series in the studio’s history, including “The X-Files,” “Cops,” “Living Single,” “Picket Fences,” and “The Simpsons.” She was also nominated for a Publicists’ Guild of America Award for her campaign for “Chicago Hope.” Over the course of her career, Wilder-Lee has also worked for several highly regarded PR agencies, including industry powerhouse Rogers & Cowan. The scope of her experience also includes campaigns for consumer products for such companies as Eastman Kodak, Pepsi Cola, American Honda Motor Company (Acura), and Miller Brewing. Before chucking it all for the rewards of motherhood, Wilder-Lee most recently served for three years as Director of Media Relations for “Entertainment Tonight,” the #1 syndicated television entertainment newsmagazine in the world. While at ET, she was responsible for planning all elements of and booking musical acts for the annual “Entertainment Tonight/People Magazine” Emmy Awards party for 1200 people, in addition to her regular role of overseeing all national and international publicity on behalf of the show, host Mary Hart, and its rotating roster of on-air talent. # # # |
